Position Overview:

MP Materials is seeking a Plant Controller to be an integral part of its Finance and Accounting department. The Plant Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the Magnetics Division's Dallas-Fort Worth location. The position is responsible for ensuring the financial controls and accounting activities of the plant are conducted and performed in accordance with corporate objectives. The Plant Controller will be responsible for leading the plant close process and ensuring that all financial controls are properly conducted. Additionally, this role is responsible for the preparation and dissemination of plant-level financial statements and conducting the monthly financial review process. This role is a critical link between plant operations and Corporate Accounting and will play a vital role in the development and design of various controls, reviews, and business processes that drive financial accuracy and plant operating efficiencies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of Accounting functions, activities, and requirements for the Magnetics Division's Dallas-Fort Worth location.
  • Identify and lead improvement of internal processes in a controlled, Sarbanes Oxley “SOX” environment.
  • Recommend and ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures in compliance with SOX.
  • Produce reporting and supporting schedules necessary for financial reporting.
  • Manage the Plant close process including identification of assets, inventories, accruals, and estimates.
  • Manage the completion of company reconciliations, filings and reporting requirements.
  • Work with external auditors and outside advisors.
  • Adhere to the company close calendar and proper completion of all close related activities.
  • Plan, direct and execute various accounting projects, including those regarding company growth initiatives that require accounting support.
  • Manage interdepartmental discussions with determination on identifying and resolving issues associated with transactions and projects.
  • Support company initiatives through design, development and reporting of operational activities.
  • Maintain company compliance and reporting standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and/or finance.
