POSITION SUMMARY:

The YMCA of Southern Nevada is looking for a Membership Front Desk Attendant. You will perform reception duties including greeting guests, processing memberships and program registrations, and providing patrons with information about our programs and services. This is a part-time, in-person position (up to 25 hours/week) located at the Durango Hills YMCA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Promote, sell, and process membership enrollments.
  2. Process special program and camp registrations.
  3. Operate computerized cash register.
  4. Greet members in person and over the phone with a customer friendly attitude.
  5. Monitor building access.
  6. Develop a positive work relationship with staff and members.
ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS:
  1. Adhere to policies related to boundaries with children.
  2. Attend required abuse risk management training.
  3. Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  4. Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  5. Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

  • Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate management techniques.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. One to three months related experience or training preferred.
  3. Ability to use a computer and learn new software programs.
  4. Strong attention to detail.
  5. Friendly and outgoing personality.
  6. American Red Cross CPR/ First Aid for the Professional Rescuer (with AED) Certification within 30 days of hire.
  7. Minimum age of 18.
