What You Will Do:

  • Transport and position track materials using standard railroad maintenance tools.
  • Install railroad tracks and supportive structures, including special track work, road crossing signage, and lubrication systems.
  • Perform vital railroad track maintenance and construction activities such as changing rails, ties, building tracks, and adjusting switches.
  • Utilize hand tools like picks, shovels, and spike mauls over extended periods.
  • Operate specialized hydraulic and pneumatic railroad power tools.
  • Be available for after-hours and weekend callouts to repair tracks following incidents like derailments.
  • Assist with the re-railing of train cars when needed.
  • Adhere to all company and federal safety guidelines by wearing necessary safety gear and promptly addressing safety concerns.

What We Need from You:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Successful completion of all necessary assessments and training, including a background check, pre-employment drug screening, and random drug tests.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; experience in the railroad or heavy construction sectors is a plus but not required.
  • Flexibility to travel to various job sites, including potential overnight stays and short notice mobilizations, with the ability to work in all weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, etc.).
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and visual instructions; recognize, avoid, and report potential hazards.
  • Capacity to engage effectively within a team and work independently when necessary.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, perform manual tasks, climb ladders, and lift/move up to 100 pounds; good vision capabilities, including close, distance, and peripheral vision.
