JOB DESCRIPTION:
Maroon is built on the story of the Jamaican Maroons, the concept embodies the spirit of resilience, resourcefulness, and the determination reflected in the Maroons' history and in the origins of jerk cooking, which emerged from survival, adaptation, and ingenuity. Chef Kwame Onwuachi is a "James Beard Award winning American Chef" known for his bold, modern expression of Afro-Caribbean and West African-influenced cuisine. Chef Kwame's mission is not only to serve food, but to create spaces that honor identity, empower communities, and make guests feel connected to a larger cultural story.
JOB FOCUS:
Focus is on, but not limited to the following:
• Must be ALL ABOUT THE TEAM!
• Must "Put The Guest "1st"
• Must say "yes" and "thank you" often!
• Runs all food from the kitchen to assigned table station and other stations as needed
• Always uses position numbers
• Receives food and places hot food into warmers and cold food and salads into reach-ins
• Keeps warmers/refrigerators clean throughout the shift
• Ensures that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, professional, gracious service always
• Anticipates guests needs, when possible, and provides extra items, drinks, and condiments to the table
• Liaise with support staff to ensure communication all times about the wants and needs of the guest
• Understands the order taken and any changes to the menu
• Aware of all upcoming orders and status of tables expecting food
• Serves water and non-alcoholic beverages to guests, removes dirty dishes from tables
• Ensures that the dining room is supplied with appropriate and clean utensils, China, glassware, water, condiments, and anything else that is necessary
• Assists the kitchen in expediting the service process to maintain the flow of service throughout the dining room
• Performs all side work duties assigned and maintains the cleanliness of the restaurant
• Responsible for taking, compiling and delivering orders to the dining room
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least two (6) months experience as a Bus Person in a fine dining restaurant
• Ability to obtain a Valid Nevada Food Handler Safety Training Card
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• Must be polished, professional, friendly, dynamic and able to multitask
• Dedicated and willing to go above and beyond
• Able to take initiative in a VIP driven and guest service focused environment
• Must have an exceptional personality and hospitality driven attitude
• Must be a highly organized individual with the ability to handle numerous tasks at a time
