Senior Electrical Project Engineer

Goodfellow Corporation is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead the design, documentation, and technical support of electrical control systems used in crushing, screening, and conveying equipment for the mining and aggregate industries. This role is responsible for developing electrical schematics, panel layouts, and Bills of Material while supporting production and ensuring designs meet Goodfellow engineering standards and industry codes.

The position will work closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and sales teams to deliver reliable electrical solutions while improving documentation standards and panel build efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Engineering & Design

  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, and engineering templates.
  • Generate and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) for control panels and electrical assemblies.
  • Standardize wiring conventions, component selection, and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with Goodfellow standards, NEC requirements, and industry best practices.

Production & Technical Support

  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for panel assembly and production teams.
  • Identify design improvements to increase build efficiency and reduce manufacturing issues.
  • Work with purchasing and vendors to confirm component specifications, availability, and cost effectiveness.

Customer & Sales Collaboration

  • Provide engineering support during customer discussions requiring technical clarification.
  • Assist the sales team in defining project scope and electrical requirements.
  • Support long-term customer relationships through accurate and responsive technical communication.

Performance Metrics Key Performance Indicators will be established with the Electrical Division Manager and may include drawing accuracy, documentation quality, production support responsiveness, and BOM accuracy.

Qualifications

Required

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience designing industrial electrical systems and 480V control panels.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar electrical CAD software.
  • Strong working knowledge of breakers, starters, VFDs, PLCs, transformers, relays, and control wiring.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in mining, aggregate, or industrial equipment industries.
  • Familiarity with MSHA, OSHA, and NEC compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting electrical panel manufacturing or production teams.
