Your Role

As a member of Farrell Roofing's warehouse staff, you are very important to the success of our branches and our company. Successful occupants of this role will be flexible in their thoughts. They will be good teammates, providing opinions, insight and assistance as needed. As a member of the Support Staff team, you will have a positive attitude and be dedicated to doing your best work at all times.

Day to Day Responsibilities will include:

  • Load and unload shipments of roofing material, sheet metal material, and equipment onto trucks for transport between the warehouse and the jobsite.
  • Ensure that all shipments are handled in a safe manner.
  • Communicate with and involve roofing and sheet metal foreman when pulling and loading equipment to be sent to jobsites.
  • Keep material/inventory stored in an orderly manner. Repackage material if necessary.
  • Keep company warehouses and grounds clean and free of trash; empty trash containers, sweep floors and dispose of unusable materials.
  • Inform manager when disposable items need to be replaced such as rags, brushes, brooms, rollers and frames, etc.
  • Perform annual inventory counts.
  • Deliver materials to job sites.
  • Complete material transfer orders to move materials from inventory to a job or from a job site back into inventory.

The Ideal Candidate For This Role Is Someone Who:

  • Is detail -oriented with an aptitude for doing things right the first time
  • Has strong record keeping skills
  • Is comfortable asking questions to ensure accuracy.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Forklift operation certification and warehouse operations knowledge preferred.
  • Previous experience in warehousing preferred.
  • Knowledge of roofing materials preferred.

  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance (per attendance policy).
  • Respond to communications in a timely manner.
  • Keep an organized workspace and files including email and electronic and paper files.

Employment Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be eligible for employment in the United States
  • Must maintain current Medical Examination Certificate to operate 1-ton vehicles

  • Must be able to count inventory and keep track of delivery and receipt of material.
  • Must read and write English at a high school level. Must be able to understand and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
