The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) invites applications and nominations for the position of Audio/Visual Analyst. This is a renewable, full-time, non-tenured, administrative position and reports to the Manager of Audio/Visual Operations, Client Services. The position will be located in Las Vegas, or Reno, Nevada. The NSHE is comprised of eight institutions: two universities, a state college, four community colleges and a research institute. The public system of higher education in Nevada continues to experience growth with significant challenges and opportunities in serving over 105,000 students and 15,000 employees. This position will assist with producing, streaming, recording, monitoring, and editing for large, high-profile NSHE System Administration and Board of Regents events. The incumbent will also perform a wide range of work transporting, installing, testing, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex audio/video and data network technologies, including routers, switches, video codecs, videoconferencing bridges, microphone and sound systems, video production boards, projectors, and a variety of electronic media equipment. The incumbent will also provide moderate level network technical support services as required. Successful performance of the work requires a good knowledge of data and audio/video communication network design and maintenance and the ability to exercise sound judgment within established guidelines. The incumbent also provides off-hours support for academic and administrative videoconferences, distance education, Board and related event activity, and operational support for SCS Services and functions.
GRADE: C (starting salary range approximately $65,000 - $75,000) Benefits package includes health, dental, vision, life and retirement. APPROXIMATE STARTING DATE: April 1, 2025 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a degree in a technical discipline, such as Electronics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Audio, Electrical or Communications/Network Engineering with two (2) years of direct work experience relating to data, video and/or voice communications systems/networks is required; or two (2) years of formal education or training in a related field with four (4) years of direct work experience relating to data, video and/or voice communications systems/networks; or alternatively, current certifications in IT, Audio, Video, or CTS with eight (8) years of direct work experience related to data, video and/or voice communications systems/networks may be substituted for a bachelor's degree or other formal education and training. Travel statewide will also be required as necessary to gather information needed for technical analysis and/or preventive maintenance activities necessary to accomplish the desired objectives. Travel both inside and outside the State of Nevada will also be required from time to time in order to attend training, or to represent SCS at conferences and administrative meetings. Since a portion of this travel may be by motor vehicle, the incumbent will be required to have a valid Nevada driver's license. The position is expected to work dedicated alternating support shifts. The expected hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, these hours are subject to change or extension including a shared on-call rotation shift and subject to weekend and holiday work to meet deliverables.
