Network Firewall Administrator

Location: Las Vegas, NV 89115

Duration: 9 months - potential longer term extension

Consultant must work onsite

Scope of Work:

The successful candidate will work with the Clark County IT Enterprise Information Security Services team ensuring the day to day security of Clark County's network infrastructure through the management of Network Firewalls (Physical & Virtual), Internet filtering, Application Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, and Data Loss Prevention. Primary focus will be on the implementation of new centralized and distributed next generation firewalls.

Duties:

• Ensure the day to day security of Clark County's network infrastructure through the management of Network Firewalls (Physical & Virtual), Internet filtering, Application Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, and Data Loss Prevention.
• Assist with the implementation of a new enterprise next generation firewall.
• Assist with the deployment of distributed, next generation firewalls as part of a compliance project.
• Document firewall configurations, processes, and procedures
• Troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues
• Participate in the audit and remediation of firewall issues related to compliance
• Prepare a weekly completed/planned activity report

Required Skills:

• A minimum of five (5) years in the Information Technology Network field, with a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience managing enterprise firewalls
• A minimum of two (2) years, hands-on experience in all aspects of managing next-generation firewalls
• A minimum of three (3) years hands-on experience with network analysis software (Sniffer, Wireshark, etc.)

Desired Experience:

• Experience working with public sector (Government) entities
• Experience with Palo Alto Network firewall administration (PAN certification a plus)
• Experience with requirements for PCI, HIPAA, and/or CJIS compliance
