Listens, takes direction, and seeks guidance from the assigned project leads, supervisors, and company leadership. Travel to client locations for installations, maintenance, or repairs of control systems.Education and ExperienceAssociate in Applied Science or Associate in Science in Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems Technology, relevant curriculum, or experience.Typically, 2 to 5+ years industry experience.Proven track record: 2+ years as Control System Technician or equivalent.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTechnical ResponsibilitiesAssist and be self-sufficient in project installation, start-up and commissioning of control systems.Perform instrument loop checks and calibrations.Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of control systems.Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).Wire instruments and control panels.Demonstrate basic understanding of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications.Proficient with startup and troubleshooting of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications.Proficient with startup and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications.Read and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams and wiring diagrams.Practice procedures outlined in the company's Quality Management System (QMS).Accurately document work performed.Demonstrate basic understanding of control system design.Demonstrate basic understanding of electrical and mechanical system design.Demonstrate basic understanding of Information Technology (IT) system, network infrastructure, and computer system design, as it relates to control system integration.Seek accredited control systems certifications and training opportunities.Customer ServiceCommunicate in an effective, positive, and proactive manner with customers.Follow customer-specific site standards and procedures.Always conduct business in a professional manner.Provide excellent customer care and support.Be patient, attentive, and responsive to customers in solving their problems.Always follow up and honor commitments with customers.Project ResponsibilitiesCommunicate in an effective, positive, and proactive manner with customers.Follow customer-specific site standards and procedures.Always conduct business in a professional manner.Provide excellent customer care and support.Be patient, attentive, and responsive to customers in solving their problems.Always follow up and honor commitments with customers.Required Skills and AbilitiesEffectively communicates with co-workers.Strategically thinks and leverages knowledge to solve problems.Able to be independently effective and take personal responsibility.Travel RequiredUp to 100% of time spent at customer locations with overnight travel up to 60%.On CallOn-call rotation participation may be required based on location and client needs.Work Authorization and Other RequirementsProof of eligibility to work in the country where the position is located is required.Maintain a valid driver's license.Fit for duty at all times.CultureSeek new and additional business through project change orders, additional services to existing customers, and referrals for new customers/projects.
