Windows & Cloud Senior Engineer

The Windows & Cloud Senior Engineer will primarily be focused on the applications and systems running in our on-premises Windows, cloud bases Microsoft Azure, and our AWS environments. The ideal candidate would be someone who understands client / server applications and the underlying technologies. The Allegiant Operations Team is responsible for supporting All Allegiant Air's customer-facing IT systems and services.

Minimum Requirements

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.

Years of Experience:

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in Windows Server administration in an enterprise environment including Exchange, Windows Server, M-365.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience utilizing Windows Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience with AWS preferred.
• Must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of cloud fundamentals.
• DNS and Route53 experience.
• CloudWatch / CloudTrail experience.
• Able to write scripts and/or programs using an administrative language (Batch, PowerShell, Visual Basic, etc.).
• Familiar with fundamental computer science concepts.
• Experience with Active Directory and Azure/M365/AWS administration.
• Experience with VMWare vSphere administration.
• Experience migrating to Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of Amazon Web Services AWS.
• Working knowledge of network protocols, such as IP, ARP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, NTP, SNMP, etc.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to document team policies and procedures if they do not already exist.
• Excellent technical problem-solving skills and customer support skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proven oral and written communications skills.
• Proven attention to detail and ability to document new processes.
• Ability to prioritize, address, and follow through on multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Experience with IIS, NetBackup, and large-scale computing environments.
• Knowledge of SOX, PCI, and ITIL practices and experience with their application in an IT department.
• Management and Monitoring Tools experience.

Preferred Requirements

Minimum two (2) years of experience with AWS.

Active Directory, on-prem, and cloud experience.

Microsoft, (Azure, Windows, AWS) or VMWare Certifications.

Previous airline experience.

Job Duties

Participate in the identification, implementation, and support of tools and processes that will allow the organization to effectively manage the on-prem and cloud networked environments.

Ensure availability, scalability, and security requirements are met with on-prem or cloud deployments.

Stay current in the latest cloud trends, best practices, and service offerings.

Research and evaluate new cloud service offerings, particularly around networking, security, and monitoring/telemetry.

Participate in the development standards, policies, and procedures for operational support of the network infrastructure, with a focus on cloud networking.

Work with other systems and security teams to operationally support the cloud environment and troubleshoot and resolve critical issues.

Maintain cloud and on-prem infrastructure support documentation (Diagrams, Standards, Policies & Procedures).

Participate in regular team and project meetings.

Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) approval process.

Participate in disaster recovery preparations and failover testing exercises.

Participate in regulatory compliance audits.

Participate in vulnerability management and patching of on-prem and cloud-based systems.

Strong knowledge in support of IIS.

Oversee monitoring systems WUG, Nagios, CloudWatch.

Maintain backup and recovery systems/methods and support both on-prem and in the cloud.

Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
