Director of Revenue Cycle Management

We are seeking a Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) to lead and optimize end-to-end revenue cycle operations across a growing, multi-state healthcare platform. This role is responsible for driving financial performance, strengthening compliance, and building scalable processes to support continued expansion.


Position Overview

The Director of Revenue Cycle Management will oversee all aspects of the revenue cycle, including patient access, coding, billing, collections, payer relations, and denial management. This individual will play a critical role in improving reimbursement outcomes, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full revenue cycle function, from patient intake through final payment
  • Optimize billing, coding, and collections processes to maximize reimbursement and cash flow
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid billing regulations, including multi-state requirements
  • Monitor and report on key revenue cycle KPIs; implement data-driven improvements
  • Oversee denial management strategy, including root cause analysis and prevention initiatives
  • Partner with finance, compliance, clinical, and operational leadership to align performance with organizational goals
  • Evaluate and enhance RCM systems, workflows, and vendor relationships
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing revenue cycle team
  • Support audits, due diligence activities, and financial reporting as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., HFMA, CPC, CHFP) preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including leadership experience
  • Deep expertise in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, billing, and compliance
  • Experience in multi-state healthcare operations preferred
  • Proven track record of improving revenue cycle performance and driving measurable outcomes
  • Experience with EHR and practice management systems (e.g., Athenahealth or similar)
  • Strong analytical, operational, and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
