Assists with troubleshooting. Maintains, services,and inspects aircraft, structures, systems, components, and related support equipment. Removes, installs, and conductsfunctional tests of repaired aircraft systems and components. May assist in adjusting, aligning, and rigging aircraftsystems. Reads and interprets manufacturers and aircraft's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data,engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioningor damaged components. Performs periodic and other hourly or calendar inspections as required. Removes and installsaircraft panels, nut plates, and other associated hardware or components to accomplish corrosion inspections and TimeCompliance Technical Directives. Performs fuel cell safety checks for entrance. Repairs, modifies, fabricates, andapplies corrosion protective, low observable coatings, and markings to aircraft structures, equipment, advancedcomposites, and bonded structural parts. Assembles structural parts and components using special fasteners andadhesives to meet requirements for preserving structural integrity and low observable qualities. Identifies, removes, andtreats corrosion using mechanical and chemical procedures. Receives technical guidance from Managers, Supervisors,Leads, or higher-level technicians as required. May be required to aid writing/initiating engineering technical assistancerequests. May be required to obtain and maintain special certifications required by AFI as directed by management.Reviews and completes forms documentation pertinent to aircraft or equipment maintenance, enters maintenanceactions into applicable Maintenance Information System (MIS) and will make entries in forms, logs, records, orelectronic equivalent as required. Complete all assignments and tasks as directed by Managers, Supervisors, Leads, andmore senior technicians.Qualifications and Experience:Minimum of 4 years performing as a USAF fighter aircraft Crew Chief, with 2 years on the F-35 airframe. Workingknowledge of MIS, forms documentation, and strict adherence to aircraft technical data is required.Working Conditions:High school diploma or GED is required. Mathematics skills are desirable.Must speak, read, write, and understand English with the ability to interpret technical data andspecial operating instructions in the same language.Must be willing to deploy to support off-station requirements.Performs housekeeping duties within 100 feet of assigned work areas (excluding bathrooms).Performs vehicle use inspections, cleaning, and wash.Performs any other supportive duties as assigned.Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (or higher, if required).Must be able to, if required, obtain, and maintain a government driver's license.
