Sign-on bonus structure: $2,500 received with the first paycheck; $2,500 awarded upon the successful completion of field training; $5,000 granted upon the successful completion of the probationary period (12 months). Please note: if you voluntarily separate from the department before completing the probationary period, you may be responsible for repaying the sign-on bonus received.
Tattoo policy: all candidates are prohibited from having tattoos or any other visible markings on their faces or collarbones. The department may make exceptions for hands and neck tattoos upon review and approval. Beard grooming policy: officers may grow a beard no longer than one-half inch.
The test for placing candidates on the eligible list will consist of an application evaluation and scoring. It is essential that applications include detailed information regarding education, certifications, and experience. Applicants who pass this assessment will move forward to the department assessment process.

By date of hire, must attend P.O.S.T. required 80-hour training, sit for the Nevada P.O.S.T. category I (Police Officer) equivalency exam and obtain a passing score.
License: possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license on the date of application, and maintenance thereafter.
Age: must be 21 years of age on the date of application.
Citizenship: must be a United States citizen on the date of application.
