Job Description

The barback's main responsibilities are to support our bartenders and ensure the bar runs efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Bar Back will assist with maintaining stock, keeping the bar clean, and ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available to ensure a smooth customer experience. This is a critical behind-the-scenes role for maintaining bar operations and supporting the bartenders during peak hours.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure guest satisfaction by smiling and engaging with our guests.
  • Restock liquor, mixers, beer, bottled water and garnishes behind the bar.
  • Occasionally change Soda bibs.
  • Perform bussing responsibilities such as clearing empty glassware and trash from bar top and machines.
  • Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of bar area (i.e. wipe down surfaces, push stools in, clean area around bar, arrange and clean bottles, drink and food menus, condiments etc).
  • Perform clean-ups as needed.
  • Clean glassware according to dish-washing procedures and re-stock.
  • Check and re-stock Ice bins.
  • Take all Food orders from guests at the Bar.
  • Practice Sanitation and Safety principles while in the kitchen and restaurant, including Health Code compliance.
  • Constant communications with guests to ensure needs are being met.
  • Proper handling of guest issues or complaints and alert management if guest satisfaction is not met.
  • Respond to a dissatisfied guest immediately.
  • Ensure the proper conditions of all equipment and facilities, alerting management when repairs are needed.
  • Clearing dishes/glassware from high-tops and Bar area and cleaning high-tops
  • Removing and carrying Bus tubs to the BOH dishwashing station when full.
  • Following all guidelines and Service Standards of our company.
  • Be efficient in using our point-of-sale system.

Skills / Experience

Requires at least one year of closely related experience in a high-volume casual dining environment. Must possess a valid Nevada Food Handler Card. Must possess a valid Nevada Alcohol Awareness card. Must possess a valid Nevada Gaming Card. Works well in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation practices. Comprehension of the English language, both written and oral. Must have cash-handling experience and essential math skills.

Physical Requirements

Work in an open-air environment and move throughout the restaurant. Work outdoors less than 25% of the time. Must possess the ability to lift, bend, and kneel. Must be able to stand or walk for an 8-hour shift. Ability to work in environments that can be smoky, noisy, hot, cold, or humid. Must be able to lift 40 pounds without assistance.
