Summary

As an Alarm Monitoring /Emergency Dispatcher at Sonitrol Southern Nevada, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients, through the monitoring of these services, dispatching emergency personnel as needed, and provided the highest level of customer service in the industry.

Responsibilities Include: (But may not be limited to:)

  • Monitor, assess and respond to all incoming alarms, other signals according to standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor surveillance systems, and take appropriate actions.
  • Dispatch police/fire or medical when required, and ensure all follow up and records are accurately completed.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with partner agencies, customers and other team members, to include use of phones, email and radio communications.
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications and incidents.
  • Assist field technicians with programming/testing as needed.

Candidate:

  • Candidate should have proven, steady work strong customer service experience
  • Strong phone/computer experience, radio transmissions a plus
  • Office experience of 3 yrs+ preferred

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements Include:

  • Must be able to obtain a Sheriffs license / pass all background checks
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English, bi -lingual Spanish a plus
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have possession of a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • Strong proven customer service skills and steady work history.
  • Must demonstrate a minimum typing speed of 40 net wpm (after errors).
  • Excellent communication skills -both written and spoken.
  • Vision sufficient to accurately read fine print, see computer screens/monitors, and strong hearing sufficient to clearly hear using headsets, phones and /or identify other sounds.
  • Dexterity and mobility sufficient to repetitively use a computer keyboard and mouse as well as other equipment such as radios, phones or assigned equipment.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time .
  • Ability to and work both independently and as a member of the team.
  • Strong time management and ability to multi- task with accuracy.
  • Punctuality and consistent attendance are essential for this role
  • Expected to be able to work any assigned shift, to include nights, weekends and holidays. (Steady shift assignment)
  • Must be able to successfully pass the initial 90 day training period to continue on to probationary period.
